Obama pays tribute to the implementation of his promises to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan




Praised U.S. President Barack Obama to implement his promises to withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan in a responsible manner, in addition to attacking the enemies of the United States, and the renewal of their capacity to lead the world.


Obama said, in a speech before the annual conference of the Organization of ex-combatants in the city of Reno, Nevada, that the United States completed the withdrawal of its troops from Iraq in a responsible manner in December last year, adding that U.S. troops leave the country, heads held high, leaving the Iraqis the opportunity to determine their future.


On Afghanistan, Obama said that his country stopped the momentum of the Taliban, also worked on strengthening the capacity of Afghan forces, and praised the progress made in Afghanistan to end the war responsibly.


Obama stressed that he said when he was a candidate for the presidency in 2008, "that if Osama bin Laden's former range of our goals we will act to protect the United States even if it cost us then go to Pakistan."


He was responding to criticism by rival Mitt Romney, who had objected to the road map set by Obama to end the war, and said: "When one is commander of the Army by providing a road map to the soldiers and to the country, and this does not mean only see the start of the war, but the date termination is also ".
